24 weeks: Your baby is covered with fine hair called lanugo and his skin is covered with a waxy substance called vernix. Your baby actually exercises his developing lungs at this point by inhaling amniotic fluid. If born at this point and time, though still quite small, your baby will likely live with proper medical care and support.

30 Weeks: In this picture you can see what your baby’s umbilical cord looks like. This has been your baby’s lifeline to you through which nourishment is passed through the mother’s blood, through the placenta and into the umbilical cord to be used by your baby. Be careful what you put in your body. This same cord can carry tobacco, alcohol and drugs to your baby too.

38-40 Weeks: Things are certainly getting crowded in here now. Your baby is somewhere around seven and a half pounds in weight and ready for life on the outside. Months of waiting are almost over and you will soon experience the miracle of the life that has been growing inside of you.
